Hsipaw
Hsipaw is known for its gorgeous scenery and historical and cultural significance. It was once the royal capital of small Kingdom of Shan state. Due to the altitude, beautiful waterfalls and mountain ranges attract many travelers for a walk into the surrounding hills. A major highlight is a boat trip in beauty Dokhtawaddy river and visits to Shan villages along the river. The popularity of Hsipaw relates to the road trip from Mandalay through the world’s greatest train journeys over Gokteik viaduct. One of Myanmar’s most stunning man-made marvels built by the British, Gokteik Viaduct is a spectacular railway bridge over 100 meters above the ground and nearly 700 meters long.
