The Golden Triangle town of Kyaing Tong (formerly known as Keng Tung) is situated in the far eastern part of Shan State and just 3 hours drive from the border of Thailand. It is an isolated sleepy town from the rest of the country and sits in the valleys between the mountains of Shan plateau. The weather in the area is cooler than compared to the tropical area of Myanmar. Kyaing Tong is in the heart of the Golden Triangle region where diverse ethnics group inhabitants live in harmony in villages where traditionally built huts sit on the mountain slopes, and the tribes still preserve wearing the traditional costume. Kyaing Tong has plenty of trekking trips to villages of different ethnic tries, enjoy the breath-taking sceneries along the way.
